Three hundred thousand NATO soldiers are in a high degree of readiness for redeployment to Poland, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army Karol Dymanowski said on Polish television.

It was previously reported that about 10 thousand American soldiers are stationed in Poland. Polish authorities insist on increasing their number.

“Previously there were 40 thousand soldiers trained to become NATO’s shield, but now there are 300 thousand in high readiness. These soldiers will arrive in the country not after the start of the war, but before it,” Dymanovsky said.

At the same time, he noted that NATO’s military support for Poland is not limited to ground forces.

“American troops are present in Poland. Several thousand American soldiers constantly train with us. We must remember that the Americans and other allies support us not only on the ground, but also in the air, in space, in cyberspace,” the Deputy Chief of the General Staff said.

However, he did not rule out that the American contingent in Poland could increase to 100 thousand.

“This is possible, and such prospects for NATO defense plans, the latest NATO plans, were approved at the political level during the last NATO summit in Vilnius,” Dymanovsky said, answering a related question.
