The Philippines has banned people from going to work in Israel.

The Philippines has banned sending its citizens to work in Israel due to the conflict with the Palestinians and is planning an evacuation, the Manila Times website reported on Tuesday.

“Currently there are no job referrals,” the newspaper quoted Leo Hans Cakdak, the ministry’s commissioner for migrant workers, as saying.

According to him, all attention is now paid to the safety of those Filipinos who are already in Israel, especially in Tel Aviv, as well as in the Gaza Strip.

As Cacdac said, the Philippine government is ready to evacuate and repatriate those Filipinos in Israel who, if necessary, want to return to their homeland.

“We are just waiting for recommendations from the Israeli government. We need to balance the situation based on such recommendations, because if we talk about mass evacuation, we must take into account security and safety concerns,” the Manila Times quoted Cakdak as saying.

At the right time, in coordination with the Israeli authorities, we will evacuate and repatriate those who want to go home,” he said.

According to him, most of the Filipinos in Israel are not workers, but wives of Palestinians, but they also want to leave with their families if there is such a need.

As previously reported, there are about 30 thousand Filipino citizens in Israel. There were no reports of casualties among them.
