The Pentagon chief will hold a meeting with the head of the Chinese Ministry of Defense.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin intends to hold a face-to-face meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun next week in Singapore, the US military department announced on Friday.

While in Singapore, Austin “plans to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts in the Indo-Pacific region and with Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun, a continuation of their April 16 discussions via video conference,” the Pentagon said in a released statement.

In total, Austin’s foreign tour will last 10 days, during which the head of the Pentagon is also scheduled to visit Cambodia and France.
