In Greece, Citizens’ Protection Minister Notis Mitarakis has resigned and Yiannis Ikonou has become the new minister, the government’s press service said.

“Citizens Protection Minister Notis Mitarakis submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for personal reasons, which was accepted. The Deputy Minister of Education, Religion and Sports, responsible for sports, will be the member of parliament from the Cyclades, Yiannis Vrutsis» – the statement says.

The swearing in of new ministers will take place on Friday at 19.00 at the Presidential Palace in the presence of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The Ministry of Citizens’ Protection is responsible for the police.
