The IDF destroyed a historical heritage site in Lebanon.

The Israeli army destroyed a Lebanese historical heritage site in the south of the country, Lebanese Culture Minister Mohammed al-Mourtada said.

“The Israeli strikes not only kill people, but also destroy history and heritage – unique mosques in areas such as Blida, Yarun and Kfar Tebnit, as well as churches of great architectural value, were destroyed. They also razed the historical market in Nabatiyeh and Sarai, the oldest quarter of the city with its priceless historical buildings,”  al-Murtada lamented.

According to the minister, Lebanon is the polar opposite of Israel, as Lebanon is characterized by diversity and deep-rooted cultural identity, while Israel is a “monochrome entity” that refuses to share or accept any cultural heritage in the land.

“These attacks reflect the weakness of the international community, and I have no confidence at all in its ability to rein in Israel, which seeks to create an inclusive identity for its settlers to cement their ownership of the land at the expense of the cultural values that Lebanon represents. What to say if they are not in able to protect even UNIFIL soldiers,” al-Murtada added.
