The head of Brazil spoke about who he would like to see as US President.

Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said in an interview with LCI television that he prefers current American Vice President Kamala Harris as US President.

“It will be great to have Kamala Harris in power,” he said.

In his opinion, Harris’s tenure as head of the United States will help strengthen democracy in the country. In this regard, he recalled the storming of the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump on January 6, 2021.

On January 6, 2021, a crowd of supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building, where Congress was scheduled to meet to certify the results of the 2020 election. As a result, five people were killed and another 140 police officers were injured. The assault was preceded by the fact that the former president publicly refused to recognize the election result and tried to challenge it in court. The politician, in particular, claimed that multiple violations were committed during the voting and demanded that the voting results be reviewed. Trump later condemned the storming of the Capitol.

The US presidential elections will take place on November 5th. The Democratic Party will be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Republican Party by former President Donald Trump.
