G7 leaders today will announce long-term security commitments to Ukraine,  White House National Security Council Senior Director for Europe Amanda Sloat said.

“President Biden and G7 leaders, along with <…> Zelensky, will make an important announcement this afternoon outlining our long-term commitment to support the people of Ukraine,” she said.


It will also announce the plans of the G7 countries to help Ukraine create armed forces “that can defend themselves and deter future attacks,” the US administration official added.


She specified that a series of talks between the G7 countries and Ukraine to achieve bilateral security guarantees would begin today.

The G7 declaration on security guarantees to Kyiv is likely to be ratified today on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Sky News reported, citing the office of the British prime minister. According to him, the document provides for the allocation of military equipment, increased exchange of intelligence, the expansion of training programs for the Ukrainian military, as well as the development of industrial capacities.
