The death toll from the earthquake in northwest China’s Gansu province has risen to 151, Xinhua reported.


An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred on Monday at 23.59 in Jishishan Bao’an Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, northwestern China’s Gansu Province.

Previously, 148 deaths were reported.


It is clarified that the death toll in Gansu province remains at 117 people, while in Qinghai province the death toll has increased to 34.


Previously, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China allocated 200 million yuan (about $28 million) to the provinces of Gansu and Qinghai to provide disaster relief.
