Supporters of ex-Pakistan Prime Minister Khan told about his kidnapping.

Former Pakistani prime minister and head of the opposition Tehreek-e-Insaf party has been kidnapped, party vice premier Fawad Chaudhry said.

Earlier Tuesday, Geo TV reported the arrest of the ex-premier. According to the channel, Imran Khan was taken into custody following a trial by the Islamabad High Court in an embezzlement case against the Al Qadeer Trust, where he went to seek bail in several cases filed against him.

“Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was kidnapped from the courthouse, dozens of lawyers and ordinary people were tortured, Imran Khan was taken away by unknown persons in an unknown direction,” Chaudhry tweeted.

The Tehreek-e-Insaf party’s official account posted on Twitter a video of Imran Khan’s lawyer being beaten, saying he was “severely injured” outside the Islamabad High Court.
