Serena Williams is going to tie the knot with her fiance Alex Ohanian. On Friday night, both Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, celebrated the upcoming wedding with her loved ones in New York City.
The tennis star Serena Williams gathered 12 guests for a glamorous pre-wedding girls’ weekend. A four-time Olympic gold medalist was spotted with her sister Venus and best friend Ciara. Among the guests of the NYC party were also a TV presenter Lala Anthony, one of the closest Serena’sriend.
Serena is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, the 34-year-old co-founder of social media, they became parents to Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. in September. On Friday, Serena arrived with her 12 guests on a party bus to her chosen venue for the first part of the evening.
Serena and her mother Oracene Price, 65, joined the guests around a long table in a cosy restaurant in NY City. Alex and his fiance announced their engagement back in December 2016 but have so far kept the exact wedding date under wraps.
The preparations for the wedding has started: the couple spent more than an hour inside Meril, an upmarket restaurant, in the city’s warehouse district, owned by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, and are thought to have been discussing the menu options and other arrangements for their nuptials – thought to be taking place within the next few weeks.
Williams, who won 2017 Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant, previously pledged to the courts soon after her daughter’s birth, and was eyeing the next Australian Open, which will take place in January 2018, as a possible stage for her comeback.
