Qatar condemned Israel’s shelling of the Qatari office for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, stressing that attacks on civilian targets cannot be justified.

“Qatar condemns in the strongest possible terms the shelling of the office of the Qatari Council by the Israeli occupation forces, which is a gross violation of international law and a continuation of the policy of destruction of civilian objects, hospitals, schools, residential complexes, shelters for refugees. Under no circumstances can the destruction of the office of the commission that was working be accepted “on the restoration of facilities in the Gaza Strip that the occupying forces destroyed during previous attacks,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

The ministry noted that this commission was established to work on projects to improve the plight of the population in the Gaza Strip, which suffers from a long blockade of the strip and constant aggression.

“Qatar demanded that the Israeli occupation administration stop hiding behind mythical excuses for attacking civilian targets, health facilities and civilian objects, and using false information,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In addition, the ministry demanded that the international community “begin to act as quickly as possible to hold Israel accountable for the ongoing attacks on civilians and civilian objects.”
