NATO Deputy Secretary General announced the possibility of Zelensky’s participation in the alliance’s summit in Madrid

Representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance allow the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a meeting of heads of state and government of member countries of the organization, which will be held in June in Madrid. This statement was made on Wednesday, May 11, in Washington by NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana.

“Of course, we will be happy to welcome President Zelensky,” the deputy secretary general of the alliance said, also recalling that during the upcoming summit in Madrid, the heads of state and government of the organization plan to approve a new NATO strategic concept.

The NATO summit is scheduled for June 28-30 in Madrid. At the moment, NATO has not officially invited the Ukrainian president to the meeting of the leaders of the countries – members of the organization.
