Most Japanese do not want Kishida to remain as prime minister.

Only 10.4% of Japanese would like Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to remain as chairman of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party after re-elections in September and, accordingly, as head of government, such data was released by the Kyodo agency based on the results of its own public opinion survey.

36.6% are in favor of him “resigning as soon as possible.”

The rating of the cabinet of ministers was 22.2%, which is 2 percentage points lower than the previous survey last year, 62.4% refused to trust the government.

Respondents also evaluate the measures taken by the Cabinet of Ministers negatively. Thus, 69.6% consider measures to support the population due to rising prices ineffective, only 27.1% recognize their benefits.

More than 90% consider the reform for a more transparent distribution of party funds carried out by the ruling party to be insufficient; only 7.6% consider the measures effective.

The number of respondents is not reported.

In September, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party will hold scheduled elections for the party chairman, who will also become the head of government.
