Melania Trump came to Canada where she met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Great Britain’s Prince Harry on Saturday. The first lady is on her first solo foreign trip to Toronto to lead the US delegation to the Invictus Games.
Melania Trump has met personally with Prince Harry who is a patron of the international Invictus games. During a whirlwind day trip, Mrs Trump attended the opening ceremony of the Paralympic-style games before returning to Washington.
It is not the first personal meeting of Melania and Harry, in 2014, they have seen each other during the Invictus event. On Saturday, Prince Harry was joined by the US First Lady and the Canadian Prime Minister, for the opening of the Games for wounded service personnel.
Earlier, Trump invited Prince Harry to the White House as the pair met ahead of the ceremony, which marks her first solo foreign trip as the first lady. She smiled as the pair shook hands for photographers before a private meeting in a city centre hotel that lasted less than half an hour.
Melania Trump speeds up: September high-profile
For Melania Trump, this autumn will be not so low-key as the summer. Since her move into the White House in June, FLOTUS has ramped up her public appearances in recent weeks. This week, the president’s wife was hosting a dinner for the White House Historical Association, visiting with children at Andrews Air Force Base.
In September, Melania also travelled to Hurricane-ravaged Texas and Florida with the President in the wake of the two devastating storms.
The Invictus games are the most powerful initiative by British Prince Harry, and Mrs Trump could never miss that event. Moreover, sports and culture are a perfect option for the trip of FLOTUS and establishing the contacts with key political persons and members of the powerful monarchies as well. While their conversation, the first lady invited Harry to visit the White House.
