Forest fires have engulfed three Turkish provinces, and the highway between the city of Selcuk and the resort of Kusadasi is blocked.


The first fire started in the area of ​​​​the village of Karacadag, Izmir province, at about 13.00 local time; they began to extinguish it within ten minutes, including from the air. The Turkish Ministry of Defense sent an additional five helicopters to help firefighters.

As part of precautionary measures, residents of one village were evacuated.

Another fire broke out in the Cesme resort area of ​​the same Izmir province near the village of Germiyan, as well as along the Izmir-Cesme highway.


In Canakkale province, firefighters are extinguishing a fire that engulfed agricultural land in the Ezine region, and residents of two villages have been evacuated.


A large forest fire began in the province of Izmir near the coastal village of Pamucak, and soon it spread to the forest of the resort of Kusadasi in the neighboring province of Aydin.

“Vehicle traffic along the Selcuk-Kusadasi highway has been stopped due to the fire, which is being extinguished from the air by four planes and five helicopters,” TRT Haber TV channel reports.
