In Germany, security measures will be strengthened before the New Year.

German Interior Minister Nancy Feser spoke in favor of tightening security measures ahead of the New Year due to the additional threat associated with the Middle East crisis.

“Our operational forces have to face blind rage again and again… The response to this must be tough action from the police and the judiciary,” Feser said.

Feser also stressed that the Middle East crisis poses an additional threat and promised that security agencies will be “extremely vigilant.”

“The response to Hamas terror and the war in Gaza has led to hatred and violence on our streets,” the minister said.

Among other measures, security will be strengthened at four Berlin train stations. Feser promised to support the operational forces of the capital and involve 500 federal police officers in law enforcement. It is noted that another 300 employees are already on the ground.

Earlier, Berlin police banned a pro-Palestinian demonstration planned for December 31 in the Neukölln area, an unnamed police spokesman told.
