Hungarian gas stations impose restrictions on gasoline for foreigners

Hungarian gas stations introduced restrictions on gasoline – now only owners of cars with Hungarian numbers will be able to refuel there

The Hungarian authorities explained the decision by the fact that “gasoline tourism” began to flourish in the country, which threatened the uninterrupted supply. “Petrol tourism” is an abuse of pricing in Hungary as petrol prices in the country are now frozen, the government added.

Earlier it was reported that Serbia agreed to store 500 million cubic meters. m of gas in Hungarian storage facilities until the end of June for the sake of a stable supply next winter. This was stated by Finance Minister Sinisha Mali.

According to him, the Hungarian vaults will be filled until the end of June. At the same time, it will be possible to use 3 million cubic meters of gas in October, then 6 million in November and the same amount in December, January and February. And already in March it will be possible to use 3 million cubic meters of gas.
On May 17, Serbian Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic announced that the country intends to reduce dependence on Russian gas by 40% in 2023 with the help of suppliers from other countries. Mihajlovic said that by the fall of 2023, the builders should complete the gas transmission link between Serbia and Bulgaria.
