George Clooney is recovering at home after he has been taken to the hospital in Sardinia, a local newspaper La Nuova Sardegna reported. The Hollywood A-lister was injured in traffic accident in Italy.
George Clooney was reported to be only lightly injured after colliding with a car near the town of Olbia, in Sardinia’s north. according to the police, the driver of the Mercedes estate stopped and called for help. While police are studying the accident site, Mr Clooney was taken by ambulance to the John Paul II Hospital in Olbia with “trauma to his knee”.
On Wednesday morning, Clooney was heading to the set-up place, the director had just left his hotel on the Costa Corallina and was driving to the set of his new TV series. The actor is involved in a traffic accident while driving a scooter in Sardinia, where he is making a TV series about WWII Capt John Yossarian. George was later discharged but will need a course of physiotherapy to repair the damage. Amal immediately rushed to the hospital after the accident, according to the local media.
The Hollywood heartthrob was found lying in the road with injuries to his pelvis and bruising to his knee and arm. In the hospital, Mr Clooney was given a CAT scan which showed that none of his bones had been fractured, according to local media reports.
Images from State Road 125 showed slight damage to his bike while the left side of the car windscreen was badly smashed. As CCV showed, the star is flung 20ft into the air. The driver called an ambulance and waited with injured George until medics arrived to take him to John Paul II Hospital.
