Floods in Pakistan have killed at least four people.

Floods in Pakistan have killed at least four people.

At least four people, including a child, died on Saturday as floods hit Pakistan, triggered by continued downpours in northern India, the provincial disaster management agency (PDMA) said.

The rains in the province of Punjab damaged the roofs of several houses.

It is noted that the central regions of Pakistan, including the city of Lahore, have been facing floods for several days now, as downpours continue in the northern states of India, where the drainage basins of the Sutlej and Ravi rivers are located. More water is being discharged from India into the flooded areas of Pakistan downstream of the river.

Heavy rains began in northern India on 8 July. The state of Himachal Pradesh, located in the foothills of the Himalayas, suffered more than others from heavy rainfall. Earlier, NDTV reported that at least 41 people were killed in the northern regions of India as a result of several days of prolonged downpours that caused landslides, the collapse of bridges and houses, and river floods.
