Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that a number of departments, including rescuers, began to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in the southeast of the country.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred at 04.17, the source of which lay in the province of Kahramanmarash, led to destruction in the center of the province and a number of other cities. At least four aftershocks have been recorded.

The President wished the citizens affected by the earthquake, which was felt in many parts of Turkey, to recover soon.

“Search and rescue teams were rushed to the areas affected by the earthquake. The ministries of interior and health, the Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), provincial governors and all other departments quickly began work. We are coordinating the work started after the earthquake,” wrote Erdogan on Telegram.

“I hope that we will all survive this catastrophe together as soon as possible and with the least damage,” Erdogan wrote.
