Congressman Gregory Meeks announced the readiness of the United States to provide weapons to Moldova

Member of the US House of Representatives Gregory Meeks said that the United States is ready to supply weapons to Moldova if the leadership of the republic asks for it.

According to Meeks, weapons will be delivered, even despite the country’s neutrality. The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress said this at a briefing in Chisinau following the talks with President Maia Sandu.
Meeks noted that military assistance should not exceed the requirements of the Moldovan side.

“I think that we should understand whether we agree on what should happen. I don’t want to go beyond what the leadership of Moldova requires of us, ”said the American congressman.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that NATO countries wanted to arm Moldova so that it could defend itself in the event of a possible Russian invasion. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the possibility of supplying weapons is currently being discussed.
