China urged people not to build security on the insecurity of others.

China considers it unacceptable to impose its will on others or base its security on the insecurity of others, Zhang Yuxia, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of China, said on Monday.

“China stands for respecting each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, respecting each other’s core interests and core concerns, and respecting the development path and social system independently chosen by the people of each country,” Zhang Yuxia said at the opening ceremony of the Xiangshan Security Forum.

He emphasized the need to consider and take seriously the legitimate security interests of each country.

“You cannot impose your will on others, you cannot put your interests above the interests of others, you cannot build your security on the insecurity of others, you cannot deliberately provoke other countries on important and sensitive issues,” he said.
