Britain’s King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer.

Britain’s King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

“During a recent procedure at the hospital… an isolated issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests revealed a form of cancer,” the release said.

It is clarified that this is not about prostate cancer. Buckingham Palace added that the king has already begun treatment, during which doctors advised him to postpone public events. Nevertheless, he will continue to perform government duties and work with official documents.

At the end of January, Charles III was discharged from the hospital. There he was treated for an enlarged prostate.

Charles III became King of Great Britain in 2022 after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II. She ruled the country for more than 70 years. Charles’s wife Camilla received the status of queen consort. The coronation took place on May 6, 2023.
