BREAKING: Governor Of Yemeni City Of Aden Killed By Rocket-Propelled Grenade

A rocket-propelled grenade hit Sunday convey of governor of the southern Yemeni city of Aden in the Tawahi area.

Governor Jaafar Mohammed Saad has been killed in the attack, reports Reuters news agency. Six bodyguards of the governor too have been killed in the explosion.

The exact cause of the explosion is being investigated by the authorities.

Earlier this year the pro-government forces backed by Saudi-led coalition chased out Shiite Houthi militants from the Aden.

Al-Qaeda affiliate in Yemen has exploited the conflict and has seized territory in the south and east of the country. It has a growing presence in Aden.

A day before, on Saturday, masked gunmen on motorcycles killed military intelligence official Col. Aqeel al-Khodr and Judge Mohsen Alwan, who has sentenced most of the al-Qaida militants. Three more people were killed in the attack.
