Blinken acknowledged divisions at the State Department over the Gaza conflict.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged the existence of disagreements within the State Department over the approach taken by President Joe Biden’s administration in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, CNN reported, citing an email sent to State Department employees.

“Some people in the department may not agree with the approaches that we take or may have views on what we can do better,” the channel quoted Blinken as saying.

He said special forums are being organized in Washington to discuss these differences, and “frank discussions” are being held at US missions around the world to seek “feedback and ideas.”

In the letter, Blinken said “much more must be done” to “reduce the suffering” of Palestinian civilians.
