Bill Gates, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince discuss coronavirus cooperation

The US billionaire Bill Gates has discussed with Crown Prince of the oil-rich emirate of Abu Dhabi the perspectives of cooperation amid coronavirus outbreak. As Arab News reported, UAE has reported 27 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Bill Gates and Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan have shared the vision of the current situation, the ryal confirmed on his Twitter. To curb the virus outbreak, the rich countries and person should create the united front, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince said in a tweet on Friday.

On Thursday, the royal had discussed with US billionaire the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.

“My good friend @BillGates and I discussed over a call the importance of enhancing cooperation between multilateral institutions and private entities in the global fight against all diseases and covid19 in particular. We have been and will remain strong partners in this effort,” Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan wrote.

Over the decades, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation works with partners to provide effective vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics and to develop innovative approaches to deliver health services to those who need it most. Now, Fund invests heavily in developing new vaccines to prevent infectious diseases that impose the greatest burden, including COVID-19.

As of Friday, the UAE’s health ministry has registered 27 infection cases. The health officials said on Thursday that a 17-year-old Emirati student had been infected with coronavirus and that he has been quarantined, bringing the total number of infected cases to 27.
