An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred on the border of the Chinese provinces of Hebei and Shandong, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The earthquake struck at 18:33 UTC 28 kilometers southeast of the city of Dezhou in Shandong Province, which has a population of approximately 679,000 people. The hearth lay at a depth of three kilometers.


There was no information about possible casualties and destruction.
