Two US Air Force B-1B Lancer strategic bombers will fly over Tallinn on Thursday to demonstrate solidarity with Estonian allies, the American Embassy press service said on Tuesday.

“Two US Air Force B-1B Lancer strategic bombers will fly over Tallinn on Thursday. The purpose of the flight is to demonstrate solidarity with our Estonian allies, support for the goals of the US Air Force in Europe and the US European Command. This will be a low-altitude flight, and the planned trajectory The flight will pass over Freedom Square towards the Singing Field,” the message says.


The B-1 bombers are part of the 7th Combat Group at Dyess AFB, Texas, currently stationed at RAF Fairford in the UK.


Since 2016, the United States has provided more than $500 million in security assistance to Estonia and regularly conducts bilateral and allied military exercises in Estonia with American personnel. As NATO allies, the two countries regularly train together to improve coordination and interoperability between the two countries’ militaries, the US Embassy noted.
