Hamas explained the delay in transmitting the names of the released hostages.

The Palestinian Hamas movement confirms compliance with the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, the delay in transmitting to Israel the names of the first three hostages, who are due to be released when the truce comes into force on Sunday, is due to technical problems on the ground, Hamas said in a statement on the movement’s Telegram channel.

“We confirm our commitment to the terms of the agreement and that the delay in the transfer of names to be made public is due to technical reasons on the ground,” the statement said.

A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip went into effect after 15 months of fighting on Sunday, but Israeli authorities threatened that they would not stop shelling until they received the names of the first three hostages to be released.
