Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Donald Trump, who declared victory in the US presidential elections, congratulated him on his victory and expressed hope for strengthening close cooperation between the two countries, he announced this on the social network X.

 

“Had a wonderful conversation with my friend, President Donald Trump, congratulated him on his impressive victory. I look forward to working closely again to further strengthen India-US relations in the areas of technology, defense, energy, space and several others,” Modi wrote.

Trump, despite expectations of a long and intense struggle, was declared the winner of the US presidential election at about two o’clock in the morning Washington time (10.00 Moscow time): according to a number of leading news resources predicting the results, he won in all key states. Trump then addressed supporters in Florida and declared victory.


According to the Fox News channel and the Associated Press, Trump wins and gains 277 electoral votes with the required 270. He was also named the winner by the American television channels CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS, the newspapers Hill, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, as well as the authoritative election forecasting service Decision Desk HQ.
