Israel fires at humanitarian convoys in eastern Lebanon.

The Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon is under a strict blockade due to Israeli attacks on humanitarian convoys, the governor of Baalbek province, Hermel Bashir Khader said.

“The Bekaa region is suffering due to a brutal blockade – this became obvious after the attack on a humanitarian convoy,” Khader said.

According to the governor, Israel’s message was clear and the goal was to disrupt the supply of humanitarian aid to the population in Bekaa.

“Most businesses in Bekaa are closed, many people left for other parts of Lebanon or Syria due to the bombing… At one gas station, people were given fuel and advised to stock up on food and basic necessities in preparation for the winter season,” the governor added.

According to Khader, there are fears that the roads to Baalbek will soon be cut off.

Since September 23, the Bekaa Valley, as well as the southern part of the country, has been subjected to massive Israeli bombing, many villages have been destroyed by 80%. In addition, strikes target rescue centers where rescuers and medics are killed, which greatly complicates search and rescue operations, resulting in increased death tolls and injuries at bombing sites.
