Following the UN Court’s decision, Palestine called for a reconsideration of relations with Israel.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, after the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, called on all countries and the UN to reconsider relations with Israel.

The International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion on Friday on the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. The court found that Israel’s settlement activities violate international law and constitute annexation. The authority called on Israel to end as soon as possible new settlement activities in the Palestinian territories and its illegal presence there, as well as to pay reparations for damage caused as a result of the illegal occupation.

“The court ordered an end to Israel’s illegal occupation. This means that all states and the UN must immediately review their bilateral relations with Israel to ensure that their policies do not contribute to Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people,” al-Maliki told reporters after court hearings in The Hague.
