Liz Truss lost her seat in Parliament following the British elections.

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss lost her seat in parliament following the country’s elections, Sky News reported.

Elections to the British Parliament took place on July 4, and the Labor Party won a landslide victory. The leader of the party that wins the parliamentary elections takes the post of prime minister of the country and forms the government.

“In a shocking development, former premier Liz Truss has lost her supposedly win-win seat in South West Norfolk… Labour’s Terry Jermey has won a majority,” a post on the channel’s website says.

Truss took up the post of British Prime Minister in the fall of 2022 and announced her resignation 44 days later. The decision comes amid widespread criticism of the hastily adopted economic plan, which led to a record fall in the pound and a market crisis. Later, the head of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, said that after the Truss decisions, only a few hours separated Britain from a financial market collapse.
