The second candidate from the ruling Conservative Party in Britain has become the subject of an investigation due to a bet on the date of the general elections in the country.

“The Gambling Commission is investigating a second Tory candidate for betting on the election date,” local media say.

We are talking about Laura Saunders, who is running for the position of deputy from one of the constituencies in the southwest of Britain. Last week it also became known that the Prime Minister’s parliamentary assistant Craig Williams had placed a bet of £100 on the election date, and an investigation was also launched against him.

It is noted that Sondes is the wife of the Conservative Party’s director of campaigns, Tony Lee. According to ITV, after reports of an investigation into his wife, he took leave, despite the fact that there are two weeks left before the elections. The Gambling Commission is also examining his actions for possible violations.
