The President of Bolivia called BRICS a space for empowerment.

Bolivian President Luis Arce said that BRICS is a space that provides extensive opportunities for its participants.

Earlier, Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda said that Bolivia hopes to soon join BRICS.

“BRICS is a space that offers enormous opportunities for trade, access to financial resources and acceleration of our socio-economic development, which leads us into a new future, so it is very important to continue on a sovereign, anti-hegemonic and multipolar path,” Arce said.

The President noted that Bolivia is experiencing “certain difficulties with access to the dollar,” but this does not mean that the country is experiencing a structural economic crisis.

On January 1, 2024, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa were joined as new full BRICS members by Egypt, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. Russia is presiding over BRICS this year.
