Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya promised to soon share with the public a report on the situation with a possible coup attempt in the country.

In Turkey, police officers in the Ankara Security Directorate were previously fired and detained on charges of links to a criminal organization. Their houses were searched. The Ankara Chief Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a possible conspiracy, the media previously wrote. At night, President Tayyip Erdogan held an emergency meeting with the heads of intelligence and the Ministry of Justice after warning of a possible coup attempt in the ranks of law enforcement agencies. Erdogan is expected to speak on the topic at a ruling party meeting in parliament on Wednesday. Erdogan’s ally Devlet Bahçeli said the situation could be a conspiracy against the government and warned of the possibility of a repeat of the 2016 coup attempt in Turkey.

“Government inspectors will complete the report in a short time. They carefully check all the steps taken, all telephone conversations. We will share the report with the public in great detail and do everything necessary,” the minister wrote on the social network X.

Yerlikaya never mentioned the word “coup” in his publication.

Turkish authorities accuse the organization of US-based Fethullah Gülen, which they call FETÖ (Fethullahist Terrorist Organization), of involvement in the July 2016 coup attempt. In Turkey, after the uprising, more than 80 thousand people were arrested, about 150 thousand civil servants, including military personnel, were fired or suspended from work. Gülen himself condemned the coup attempt and rejected the accusations.
