Heavy rains caused floods in the favorite holiday destination of Russian tourists – the Turkish resort of Antalya, and education was suspended in a number of areas, the Ekonomim newspaper writes.

“The downpour, which began in the evening in the center of Antalya, intensified at night. Due to heavy rain, puddles formed on the roads. Citizens and vehicles had difficulty moving on the roads. In rural areas, houses and workplaces were flooded in some neighborhoods. Due to the downpour, In some areas, transport links were disrupted,” the publication said.

In a written statement, the Antalya Governor’s Office said unfavorable weather conditions persisted in the city.

“Due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions, floods and flash floods in our province, education in our five central districts of Aksu, Döşemealtı, Kepez, Konyaaltı, Muratpaşa is suspended for one day on Tuesday 02/13/2024 in accordance with the decision of the Department of Health,” the statement said.
