China will continue to promote a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong said on Tuesday.

“China will continue to adhere to the core direction of promoting reconciliation and peace negotiations, encourage the countries involved to strengthen mutual security trust, and resolve contradictions and disagreements through frank dialogue and interaction,” Nong Rong said at the Xiangshan Security Forum.

According to the diplomat, “regarding the Ukrainian crisis, China will stick to the right direction of promoting reconciliation and negotiations, calling on all parties to promote a ceasefire and de-escalation, and create conditions for the resumption of negotiations.”

Speaking about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Nong Rong added that China will continue to actively push the parties to an early ceasefire and ceasefire to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe, return the Palestinian issue to the right path of implementing the “Two States for Two Nations” plan, and achieve comprehensive, fair and long-term settlement.
