The Israeli army admitted that it had received signals of a possible Hamas attack.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari admitted that the military received signals about a possible Hamas attack on October 7, but there was no precise information from intelligence, the Times of Israel newspaper reported.

As the publication notes, Hagari responded to statements by Israel’s Channel 13 about the presence of certain warnings the night before the Hamas attack. The channel says senior intelligence officers discussed the warnings on Saturday night and “agreed to continue discussions on Saturday morning.”

“There were no significant warnings. The signals that appeared several hours before the attack could have been based on various signs from intelligence,” the newspaper quoted Hagari as saying.

According to him, the army will investigate all the circumstances of the surprise Hamas attack.

Earlier, an official Egyptian source told local media that Cairo had not provided any information about the impending attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office also denied reports that Egypt warned Israel in advance about the Palestinian factions’ plans.
