The Lebanese Hezbollah movement claimed responsibility for the shelling of three Israeli army positions.

The Israel Defense Forces announced earlier on Sunday that it would carry out strikes in an area of Lebanon in response to the shelling. The Lebanese TV channel al-Mayadeen specified that the village of Kfar Shuba in southern Lebanon was hit.

“Out of solidarity with the Palestinian resistance forces… a group of our fighters this morning attacked three positions of the Zionist army near the occupied Lebanese Shebaa farms,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

The strikes were carried out by a large number of missiles and shells, including on the Israeli army’s radar, causing a “direct hit”, the movement noted.

On Saturday morning, Israel was hit by an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. The press service of the Israeli army said that more than 3 thousand rockets were launched. In addition, dozens of Hamas fighters have infiltrated border areas in southern Israel.
