An earthquake hit the Indonesian province of Timor.

The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) said a 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Timor province on Thursday.

“The epicenter was 36 kilometers south of the center of Timor… The magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck at a depth of 75 kilometers,” the BMKG said on its website.

It is clarified that the threat of a tsunami has not been recorded at the moment. There were also no reports of casualties or damage. The agency advised the public to remain vigilant for potential aftershocks and aftershocks.
