Kim Yo-jong, deputy head of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of North Korea and sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, said that Pyongyang has no desire to enter into dialogue with the United States and is ready to “selflessly respond to any actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity” of the country.

“The United States must understand why we have no interest in having a dialogue with them … Regardless of what and how their former president promised, it is the United States and the Republic of Korea that turned it over like the palm of someone’s hand when they came to new governments,” Kim Yo-jong said in a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The message also emphasizes that in connection with such actions by the United States and South Korea, there is no need to “confront some individual personalities like Yoon Seok-yeol or Biden“, but rather “to build a long-term strategy against the United States and their Korean agent in order to build a system of security guarantees for the DPRK».

“It’s a delusion if the US thinks they can stop our progress and achieve irreversible disarmament by temporarily stopping joint military exercises or deploying strategic assets, or easing the sanctions regime, which can always be reversed,” the sister of the North Korean leader said.

According to Kim Yo-jong, the more the US expands its military presence, the further they remove the DPRK from the negotiations.

“We are ready to selflessly respond to any action that violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity, threatens the well-being of our people and undermines peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. The United States must stop making stupid steps that harm us even at the risk to ourselves,” she added.

North Korea launched its Hwaseongpo-18 intercontinental ballistic missile last Wednesday. Subsequently, the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) confirmed the launch of the Hwaseongpo-18 intercontinental ballistic missile. The launch was personally led by Chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-un. The tests were reportedly aimed at confirming the technical viability and operational reliability of ICBMs and “did not adversely affect the security of neighboring countries.”

The missile flight lasted 74 minutes and became the longest among the ballistic missiles fired by North Korea. The flight range was one thousand kilometers, the maximum flight altitude was more than six thousand kilometers. The missile was fired along a hinged trajectory. The hinged trajectory means a more vertical launch of the rocket, which allows for a shorter flight distance. If the trajectory were standard, the flight range would be about 15 thousand kilometers, which would make it possible to reach any point in the United States.
