The Japanese Prime Minister called stability in US-China relations extremely important.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said he considers stability in US-China relations important to the world community.

“Stability in US-China relations is a matter of utmost importance to the world community,” Kishida said at a press conference on Wednesday, when asked about his assessment of the Chinese leader’s meeting with the US Secretary of State.

Speaking about the relationship between Japan and China, Kishida said that at a meeting with Xi Jinping last year, he noted “positive moments.”

“During the summit meeting with Xi Jinping last November, I felt positive moments regarding moving forward. Our country, while maintaining these moments, will insist on what needs to be insisted, but also demand responsible actions from China and continue dialogue in solving common problems such as climate change,” Kishida said.
