First region in Sweden rolls out Phase 3 of Covid-19 vaccinations

In Sweden, Kalmar became the first region to launch the next phase of covid-19 inoculation.

Phase 3 of Sweden’s covid-19 immunization campaign has started in Kalmar on Wednesday. In the frame of such a useful project, the respective letters being sent out to people aged 60-64 starting on April 14. This means everyone over the age of 60 will be able to get vaccinated in the region, earlier than the rest of Sweden.

The regional authorities have released the statement, which underlines the ability to scale up the number of available appointments due to increased deliveries of jab in recent and coming weeks. Although, the document did not mention other groups who are also included in Phase 3, many regions have been rolling out vaccinations step by step even within the various phases, according to The Local Sweden.

These groups include over-18s who have certain underlying health conditions or people with a severely weakened immune system due to illness or ongoing medical treatment.
