Kim Jong Un, the North Korean chairman, received a reply message from Cuban President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel, KCNA reports.
Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez sent a message to Mr Kim, in which he expressed his heartfelt thanks to the North Korean leader for sending congratulations on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution.
According to the Cuban leader, he highly appreciates full support and solidarity expressed by Kim Jong Un in his message. For the Cuban President, it was important to know that the People Democratic Republic of North Korea shares the same ideas. Diaz-Canel even called it ‘brother party, government and people of Cuba’.
In his congratulation message, Kim expresses his hope that the Island of Freedom ‘under the strong guidance of dear comrades Raul Castro Ruz and Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, firmly defends the valuable achievements of the Revolution and develops the socialist cause’.
For both North Korea and Cuba, the issue of the economic Western sanctions remains unresolved. Kim also noted that Cuba, guided by the main leaders of the Party and the State, ‘sharply frustrates the brutal campaign of sanctions and blockade by hostile forces’.
Sending congratulations on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution, the North Korean head of state said he was convinced that the ‘excellent history and tradition of comradely relations of friendship and cooperation established between the parties and peoples of the two countries’ will continue and will be further developed.
