John Lennon was killed by his fan Mrk Chapman on December 8, 1980, five hours prior to the lethal incident, the musician signed a Double Fantasy LP for his killer. Now, this LP is available for buying for £1.2 million.
The LP’s story is very interesting: the seller found it hidden between two plants on the night of the murder. Later, after the news about the murder, he turned Double Fantasy LP in as evidence to the police, which marked it with ‘WJT-2’ sign. After all, the album was returned to the seller with a letter of gratitude from the District Attorney in 1981. The unnamed owner of the LP forgot about it for 18 years, then sold the album to the private collector.
Now, this legendary evidence and artefact signed by John Lennon for his killer, has gone on sale for £1.2million. Mark Chapman after getting an autograph stashed the LP in a large plant pot at the entrance to the apartments. At 10.50PMthe murderer shot his idol four times in the back.

The cover of Double Fantasy LP and its dust jacket still contains forensically enhanced fingerprints of Chapman. The private collector who bought the legendary Double Fantasy album in 1999, has decided to put the ‘morbid’ piece of music history on the market for £1.2million.
Gary Zimet, president of US dealer Moments In Time which is selling the album on general sale, said:
“It is arguably the most important rock and roll artefact in history, even if it is a little morbid.”
