Brigitte Macron, Melania Trump: who won the style war on July 14

Brigitte Macron, Melania Trump: who won the style war on July 14

Brigitte Macron and Melania Trump both were stylish and elegant while the celebrating the traditional Bastille Day military parade on the Champs Elysees. However, the fashion critics concluded that the first lady of France wasn’t the person who has won the style war on July 14.

Melania Trump and her husband were invited by President Macron to attend the Bastille Day Parade in Paris this year. Both first ladies looked gorgeous, Melania opted for a white dress with a pattern of blue, red and pink flowers, while her French counterpart sported a chic tailored navy dress with a matching jacket. With open knees, again, the dresses of such length made her look like a teenager.

The colours of French flag were reflected in the outfits of both Brigitte Macron and her American counterpart. On Friday evening, for dinner last night at Le Jules Verne of the Eiffel Tower, Mrs Trump wore a form fitting sleeveless white and blue frock featuring a red belt around her waist for the dinner. And Brigitte Trogneux’s choice was a tri-colour dress, which traditionally opens her knees. Melania rump looked more conservative in her laconic dress, a perfect one for such level of the diplomatic event.

Brigitte Macron’s style for Bastille Day

Brigitte looked good in black and white short-sleeve dress but Melania’s outfit looked better, no doubt. During this state visit, Mrs Trump chanelled the ex-FLOTUS Jacqueline Kennedy in a scarlet Dior skirt suit with matching pumps.

Brigitte and Melania haven’t too much freedom in the choice of colours – red, blue and white were the most suitable for the traditional Bastille Day parade but both women have opted for very different silhouettes. While Melania used to stress her waist, Brigitte Macron prefers A-line dresses and likes to open her knees.

Whereas Melania is wearing more tailored pieces such as a belted in dress and nipped in waist red skirt and jacket suit. Mrs Macron’s style is pretty consistent, but it is time to try to wear long dresses – both the vertical line and lean silhouette will suit to Brigitte’s slim figure perfectly!
