Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei on Death to U.S. Polices and Death to American Arrogance

Iran Supreme Leader – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s speech during the November 4, 36th year anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Iran generated shouts of “Death to America”.

In a gathering of university students, Khamenei hailed shouts of anger – filled response, a slogan cursing an enemy nation – the US. Deliberately said, but this reaction is not the usual label to a country after getting a deal of lifting international sanctions. This slogan, which had its origin on strained U.S. relations for more than 50 long years, is nothing new in this country every time Iran’s Supreme Leader speaks or addresses a crowd.

But Khamenei, justified and put forward a new dimension of the slogan “Death to America”. He said the slogan would remain the byword of the Iranians but this “does not mean death to the American nation”. On the contrary, he gives the label a new meaning “backed by reasons and wisdom” according to Iran’s PressTV. Slamming American superiority, he said “death” is directed to the American policies and arrogance.

Proving his point, Khamenie recounted years back of history, the US – supported coup in Iran in 1953, which has been planned and done right at U.S. Embassy in Tehran. Thus, the U.S. Embassy got its name and later on was known as the “Den of Espionage,” Iran’s State Run News Agency (IRNA) reported.

Likewise, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhanie claimed the takeover of the US Embassy as Iran’s second revolution as he told the Cultural Revolution Supreme Council. In his statement, the Iranian President said that “The U.S. embassy takeover formed the pillars of the country’s independence and fighting against the arrogant power by the Islamic Revolution in Iran,”.

The 36th year anniversary celebrates national day against America’s global arrogance. The demonstrators in the capital city burned U.S. flags, calling the United States as the “Great Satan” and justifying their actions of fighting “the arrogant powers” as logical and with reason.
