The UAE accepted the credentials of the Ambassador of Afghanistan, a representative of the Emirati Foreign Ministry said.

“The world recognizes the challenges Afghanistan has faced in recent years. The decision to accept the Afghan Ambassador’s credentials reaffirms our determination to contribute to building bridges to help the people of Afghanistan. This includes providing humanitarian assistance through development and reconstruction projects and supporting efforts to de-escalate and stability in the region,” he said.

At the same time, the UAE did not officially declare recognition of the Taliban government (Taliban movement)

Earlier in August, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Abu Dhabi with the head of the interim government of Afghanistan, Mohammad Hassan Akhund, who at that moment was undergoing treatment in one of the clinics in Abu Dhabi.
