The terrorists leading the offensive in Syria are located on the outskirts of the Syrian city of Homs, the center of the province of the same name, according to the Turkish state agency Anadolu.
⠀
“Anti-government armed groups are moving into the outskirts of Homs, a strategically important point on the road to Damascus,” the agency reported.
⠀
According to the agency, militants are entering the city from the west through the Wair district. Other terrorist detachments are located three kilometers north of Homs, media reports.
⠀
Capturing Homs could disrupt supply lines between Damascus and coastal Syria, which is also located several kilometers from key checkpoints on the border with Lebanon.
⠀
The terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, together with a number of armed formations that are part of the so-called armed Syrian opposition, launched a large-scale operation on November 29, moving from the north of Idlib towards the cities of Aleppo and Hama. A day later, on November 30, the second largest city in Syria and its surroundings, including the international airport and the Kuweiris military airfield, came under the control of terrorists.
⠀
The complete capture of Aleppo by militants occurred for the first time since the beginning of the crisis in Syria in 2011.
⠀
After the capture of Aleppo, terrorist groups attempted to advance towards the city of Hama, capturing the village of Maaret Nuuman. The Syrian army has been repelling massive terrorist attacks in Hama province from three different directions for several days, declaring preparations for a counter-offensive. However, on December 5, the SAR army command officially announced the relocation of its units outside the city of Hama.
